Access for testing. Planned into the cage.
Sonitec® steel tubes create access channels for crosshole sonic logging (CSL) probes in concrete foundations. A transmitter and receiver travel through water-filled tubes to help the testing team assess concrete continuity. The tubes are not testing instruments or structural reinforcement.
Sonitec V3: documented tube models
V3 uses a bell-mouth push-fit connection, wiper seal, visual stop ring and fixing ears. Tubes can be assembled without site welding. Confirm the exact generation and model when ordering.

Diameter is labelled “nominal diameter” in this V3 brochure. Do not substitute these dimensions for a different Sonitec generation. A double bell-mouth tube option is also described by Dextra to help manage cut lengths.

These are manufacturer brochure values under the stated water-filled condition, not universal permissible pile depths. Confirm pressure conditions, installation, fixing and acceptance criteria with the manufacturer and project engineer.

Access paths within reinforcement cages for specified CSL testing.
Diaphragm walls & barrettes
Tube arrangements coordinated with cage geometry, joints and the testing plan.
Deep foundation works
Infrastructure and building foundations where sonic access tubes are specified.
Coordinate before fabrication
The project testing specification determines tube count, spacing, clear bore and termination level. Coordinate fixing, joint access, sealed ends and water filling with the approved cage detail and the current assembly instructions.
Send pile or wall depth, cage quantities, tube model or test specification, required lengths, accessories and delivery sequence. TFSteel will review the schedule before pricing.
Other Sonitec variants, including STV50 and market-specific ranges, have separate dimensions and pressure ratings. Ask us to confirm the current regional model and its datasheet; V3 values above must not be reused for those variants.
